Frequently asked questions
What is Guard Rolling?
Guard rolling involves reshaping the inner lip of the wheel arch to prevent it from making contact with the tyre. This process increases clearance, allowing for the installation of wider wheels, larger tyres, or the use of wheel spacers while maintaining proper fitment and avoiding tyre rub.
When is Guard Rolling needed?
Guard rolling can be performed at any stage of vehicle ownership, whether your car is completely stock or being prepared for modifications. It’s most commonly done when fitting new wheels, wider tyres, or lowering the suspension, helping to prevent tyre-to-guard contact and avoiding potential damage to both the wheel arch and tyre sidewall.
Can Guard Rolling cause cracked paint?
Paint cracking can occur for several reasons. If the tyre has already been rubbing against the guard, it may create small hairline fractures that can expand during the rolling process. Every vehicle reacts differently, while some guards may develop cracks, others remain unaffected. In most cases, if the guards are original and the factory paint is still intact, the likelihood of paint cracking or splitting during rolling is relatively low.
How long does Guard Rolling take?
The time required to roll guards varies between vehicles. On average, it takes approximately 20–30 minutes per guard, though this can differ depending on the car. For an accurate estimate, please contact us with your vehicle’s make, model, and year. Cars equipped with coilovers or lowered suspension may require additional time, as some setups need the shocks disconnected to ensure the guards are rolled correctly.
Where are you located?
We’re based in Melbourne’s western suburbs, located in Point Cook (3030). For your convenience, we also offer on-site guard rolling—whether at your home, workshop, or another location. A call-out fee applies based on your distance from Point Cook and any tolls required for travel.
Do you keep coilovers/wheels/air suspension in stock?
No, we do not hold coilovers or wheel packages in stock. All coilovers are made to order and typically take 10–14 days to arrive from the date of purchase. Each set is fully customisable, including strut lengths and spring rates.
Wheel and tyre packages generally take up to 12 days to be ready for pickup or installation, though some wheel models may be available within 48 hours. Please contact us directly for an estimated timeframe on specific wheels.
Air suspension kits are usually available for pickup or postage within 48 hours. If you’re interested in custom air struts, feel free to send us a message to discuss your setup in more detail.
